It all started with a Robin mounted on an old fork which makes a perfect present for a gardener. Since then I have made all sorts of carvings meant to survive outside. Follow the link to take a look.

This is my favourite sign. I was going to create just a simple lettered sign but the client had other ideas. I'm glad he did!

The piece of wood for this carving came from a Cherry tree cut down in the local Church. I love carving hands, I've done several carvings with them. Here the turned bowl is cradled by two hands. Having completed it I donated it to the Church where they use it to receive donations on special occasions.

I have made quite a few mirrors over the years. They're useful objects and I reckon everyone has room for at least one more.
This was one of the first and was originally made to hang in a bedroom in a previous house. I was fascinated by the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh at the time and tried to create something in his style. It's also one of the largest I've ever made at 1.2m (4ft) square.
I've never yet found a good way of photographing them. Click the link to see for yourself!

An odd category perhaps but this includes boxes and various bread boards, platters and trays that started their lives on the lathe and have had a bit of carving done on them. Once I had the lathe I realised that it is much easier to turn the inside of a box rather then try and carve it. This pot is made from a beautiful piece of walnut but once I finished the turning I had the idea of adding an image of the Sycamore Gap tree just to complete it
